Danielle M. Andrews

I can clearly remember the moment I saw “Rolling Hills of Paramin,” a photo-realist painting by Karen Sylvester, a Trinidadian painter. This painting depicted with a painful accuracy, an environmental disaster, of man eating away at his patrimony, the bush, which used to protect the land from wind, sun, erosion and run-off. Now the land lies exposed to the elements.

What motivates me?

The frequency with which our environment is being destroyed fills today’s news broadcast worldwide, and the frequent thoughtlessness that governments and other authorities exhibit towards environmental issues, have prompted me to advance my understanding of how the environment functions.

My research experiences and coursework have greatly enhanced my commitment to academic excellence especially in the environmental field. My research experiences have also helped in the development of my analytical and interpersonal skills, allowing me to become a more focused and disciplined person.
